"Work In Progress" British Railway & Transport films from 1951
"Work In Progress" British Railway & Transport films from 1951
Five Newsreel style educational films from Britain. These films were made available for free in the 1950's to anyone who wanted to screen them in an effort to educate the public about transport related topics. At Woodhead, a century-old tunnel is replaced by a new one. Farther north, Argyllshire is the scene of an experiment in co-ordinated road haulage service. At Whitemoor, Cambridgeshire, marshalling of goods wagons is being speeded by radio. In Bristol, bus operators are analysing the problems of congestion that apply to most modern cities. Between Calais and Dover, the Golden Arrow steamer, running into mid-Channel fog, is brought safely into harbour by radar.

Hot Rails Through the Twin Cities DVD
Hot Rails Through the Twin Cities DVD
Hot Rails Through the Twin Cities DVD Sizzling action -- that's railroading in the Twin Cities in 1998 when this show was filmed. Minneapolis/St. Paul hosts eight different railroads plus Amtrak passenger trains. Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Union Pacific, Canadian Pacific, Twin Cities & Western, Minnesota Commercial, Wisconsin Central, and the I&M Rail Link all operate here. These rails are kept highly polished by cross-town transfers, local freights, yard jobs, and road trains! Experience the action at the hottest locations. University Avenue, Division Street, and Dayton's Bluff at Hoffman Avenue are extensively covered. Shortline Hill, where trains strain to lift heavy tonnage out of the river valley, the NBSF mainline through St. Paul, and Wisconsin Central out of Shoreham provide plenty of action, with train meets and multiple trains underway. Steam is on the rails in the Twin Cities. You'll spot Milwaukee Road #261 pulling an outbound excursion. Then it's on the Minnesota Commercial where many of their unusual locomotives are hard at work. MC owns a unique fleet of old Alco and EMD museum pieces that will take you back to an earlier period. Tremendous variety and sheer volume make the Twin Cities a railfan's dream come true and it's captured here for your enjoyment!

Unboxing a Saiga .223 & adding Quad Rails & Laser/Light
Get it here: bit.ly Just a quick un-box and visual demonstration of how easy it is to change the front hand guard to a much more useful quad rail system. This firearm is California legal and is going to stay that way. In California, we cannot put on pistol grips or large magazines on it, so I won't be doing any of that. Rather, this video will show how to make the gun a little more practical in less than 15-20 minutes of work. Actually more like 5 if you really are in a hurry. Firearm from a local dealer. Forearm and light from: www.carolinashooterssupply.com Great store with fast service & shipping. NOTE. I edited and narrated at 2 in the morning so if it's not my best work I apologize! Props & credit to www.royaltyfreeinstrumentals.com for the beats. Answer to question "Can it shoot 5.56 NATO?" Youtube user GBOUNIT had this to say /snip I emailed Russian American Armory Company (RAACAK@aol.com) a message: "I understand the Saiga hunting rifle chambered or listed as 223 is to fire 223 Remington. My question is, is it safe or adviseable to use NATO 5.56x45 MIL-SPEC ammunition? I would like to CLEARLY know if this Saiga 223 model is flexible enough to use both types of rounds safely for the life of the rifle." Clyde Woods from RAAC emailed back: "The Saiga.223 will shoot both commercial ammo and the Nato rounds." /snip

Steam Locomotives at Thonburi Rail Depot
Steam Locomotives at Thonburi Rail Depot
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) still maintains half a dozen steam locomotives that on four occasions a year are brought out to pull a special train from Bangkok's main terminus station, Hua Lamphong, to the historic city of Ayutthaya, a journey of around 70 miles. This remaining handful of once mighty queens of the iron road that have stubbornly refused to go to the scrapyard to join their once domineering brethren are lovingly maintained by the SRT and a gang of enthusiastic volunteers at the perfectly named Thonburi Locomotive House. A fitting location as Thonburi was once the key route into the capital on the SRT map, but that was then, now it has been reduced to an insignificant commuter line, while its former, famous waterfront terminus station has been unceremoniously chopped off from the railway map and all access to it in fact is gone, to make room for the massive concrete extension of the giant Siriraj Hospital, meaning that the stunted railway line now peters out more than a kilometre back from the menacingly dark waters of the Chao Phraya river. But while time and progress march inevitably on, more than a century of glorious railway history is lovingly kept alive on the rows of shining steel rails in the Thonburi yard. With the excursion set for tomorrow, today two of the mighty steam locomotives are being carefully prepared, readied to roll back the years once again. Of the six steam locomotives in the yard it is difficult to say how many are still in for ...

Another Awesome Kel Tec Sub 2000 Upgrade: Red Lion Indexing Rail
I installed the Red Lion indexing quad rail onto my Kel Tec Sub 2000 to allow for the addition of a red dot sight while retaining the ability to fold the carbine without having to remove the optic. The machining work is high quality and this rail allows for many options on mounting various types and locations of picatinny rail. Kel Tec does make an in-house quad rail but it does not allow the rifle to be completely folded which is the signature feature of the carbine.
